Camella Northpoint is the first vertical development project of Camella Communities in Davao City. Camella Communities (one of Vista Land Companies) is well-known as the leading developer of master-planned communities in the Philippines. A Brief History
The place where the Camella Northpoint is situated has a long a colorful history dating back to the year 1800’s. Back then, a Scottish businessman named Robert Ker was engaged in Abaca trading and export, a famous business during that time. His abaca plantation has a wide span and the area of the present Camella Norhtpoint is part of Ker and Company’s olden Abaca Plantation.
There is a famous landmark in that area known to the locales as the White House. That house is originally the home of Robert Ker. The white house was strategically located at the highest point of the area giving one a 360-degree view reminiscent of the highlands of Scotland.
In the 1900’s export quota allocations became more complicated and political so in 1961 Ker got out of the Abaca business, but the white house remained to be a witness of the unfolding history
During the World War II, the house was occupied by the Japanese and partly made a garrisson. Many believed there are hidden treasures in the area. But the true treasure is actually the area itself with its rich history and surrounded by abundance of nature.
